Position Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Associate Medical Director provides advanced clinical care and medical leadership for BGHC patients, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate care for acute and chronic conditions. This role focuses on clinical excellence, medical oversight, provider support, and care coordination, while partnering with the Clinic Manager on operational alignment.
As BGHC continues to strengthen its operational infrastructure, this role is intentionally centered on medical decision-making, clinical quality, and provider leadership, rather than day-to-day clinic operations.
Core Responsibilities
Advanced Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive acute and chronic care to BGHC patients across a wide range of conditions
- Perform advanced clinical evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests in a cost-effective, evidence-based manner
- Provide timely follow-up care for patients seen by volunteer providers
- Utilize telehealth appropriately to improve access and continuity of care
- Respond to clinical inquiries requiring advanced medical judgment
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation in the EMR
Medical Leadership & Oversight
- Serve as a clinical leader and resource for volunteer and staff providers
- Collaborate with the Medical Director on standing orders, clinical protocols, and policies
- Consult on clinical questions, complex cases, and standards of care
- Ensure timely clinical response to abnormal labs requiring urgent or emergent follow-up
- Support quality improvement initiatives related to patient safety, outcomes, and continuity of care
- Provide on-site clinical guidance and mentorship to providers engaged in patient care
Care Coordination & Clinical Programs
- Work closely with Care Management nurses and staff to support referrals and care navigation
- Provide clinical oversight for health education and chronic disease management initiatives (e.g., hypertension, diabetes education)
- Oversees and supports clinical integration of community health resources and referrals
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patients’ physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs
Partnership with Clinic Operations (Non-Operational Role)
- Partner with the Clinic Manager on clinical workflow alignment, without direct responsibility for daily front desk or facility operations
- Provide clinical input into scheduling needs, clinic capacity, and provider utilization
- Serve as a medical advisor for EMR optimization, without primary responsibility for
system administration - Support safety and compliance initiatives from a clinical perspective
Professional Practice & Compliance
- Comply with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements
- Uphold BGHC policies, procedures, and Board directives
- Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times
- Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
- Integrate new clinical knowledge into patient care and clinical leadership
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Licensed Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C) in Washington State
- Active DEA license with prescriptive authority
- Maintain continuing education and certification requirements
- Current BLS/CPR certification
Experience & Skills
- Experience managing patients with chronic conditions
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills
- Experience in community health or underserved care settings preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
- Ability to develop and implement clinical policies and standards of care
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Bilingual Spanish skills strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, exempt position (30–35 hours/week)
- Hourly range: $68–$75
- Sick leave per Washington State Initiative 1433
- Vacation accrual: 3 weeks annually
